Binding

Griffin Press provides an option to limp bind or case bind your book. Both binding methods are "perfect" bound.

The Perfect binding process binds pages securely with a flexible adhesive rather than the much more expensive traditional sewing or stitching.  The sections of the book are collated, and their backs ground off leaving a rough surface upon which the adhesive is applied. The cover is glued into place after it has been scored to allow the adhesive to slightly overlap the front and back of the book block. Customers can have a limp bound book with or without the score.

Case bound books are also perfect bound - for images of the case binding process click here

Perfect bound limp books

The printed section running head to head.
The collated sections - note the secton marks which indicate correct collation of the sections required for this title.
Our books are bound head to head to maximise production efficiency.Note there are 2 copies of the book (same title) being bound together, the head of the front of one book is meeting the head of the back of the other.
After the binding stage the head to head book block is split into two books.
The books are then three knife trimmed - head, foot and foredge to provide a completed book.
